CPI O Cruce is a multilingual school included in the multilingual programme of the Xunta de Galicia and in the EDIXGAL Programme. It also has participated in several European projects since 1997, and in 2011 got the National Comenius Award in Spain.

In 2003, 2005 and 2006 the school was awarded the European Label for Innovative Projects in Language teaching and learning. It has published a range of e-learning materials and are engaged in several other activities which include six teachers from the school, working with an ICT research team at the University of Santiago.

The school has a large experience using flexible and creative materials, and new methods. In this field it has implemented:

  • Catalogue of ICT competences for students in Primary and Secondary education and how to achieve them.
  • Concrete tools and materials to use 1:1 laptop/tablet in the classroom Catalogue of best practises/examples/strategies.
  • Courses on how to develop entrepreneurial mindset The school organizes together with the University of Santiago a Study visit: “Towards flexible and creative teaching and learning using web based tools”, were students benefit from new methods, materials, etc., cooperate with international peers doing common project(s) emphasizing key competence(s) at an international level; use active learning methods such as problem-based learning, case methods, projects, simulations, and technology uses; enhancing creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship at all levels of education and training.

The school has participated in the project “ICT go girls” to implement entrepreneurship and its works have been selected as example of Best Practices and presented in the Final conference in Brussels (October 2014).

The school has also participated in the project EUfolio an innovation project K3. Our works have been selected by the University of Krems as an example of Best Practices and were presented in various conferences in Europe and in the Assessment of Transversal Skills in STEM (project ATS STEM), an innovative policy experimentation project  being conducted across 8 EU countries and involving a partner network of 12 educational institutions.
