The Colégio La Salle de Barcelos had its origins in 1952, when the Congregation of the Irmãos de La Salle acquired the “Quinta do Galo” located on Rua Irmãos de La Salle, in Barcelinhos. On September 3 of that same year, the first community of Brothers of La Salle was formed in this region, whose main objective was the formation of young people who wanted to prepare for future brothers.
In the mid-70s, the idea of transforming Colégio La Salle into a school open to all matured, with an Educational Project that aims to unite cultural formation with human and Christian formation, thus contributing to the education of young people who will come to play roles predominant in the society of the future. Therefore, on October 1st, 1981, Colégio La Salle starts this new course with two classes in the 5th year of schooling.
The dense youth population in this pedagogical area forced the expansion of 2 to 3 classes per level, from the 5th to the 9th grade, and the expansion of the educational offer to Secondary Education. Currently, its educational offer covers the years of schooling from the 5th to the 12th year.
Colégio La Salle is a private and cooperative school with pedagogical autonomy.
The educational team responsible for the education and training of students at Colégio La Salle is made up of experienced professionals who, in addition to their knowledge, skills and knowledge, combine a variety of educational strategies based on pedagogical innovations, while considering the importance of values and affections in structuring of personality. Thus, through the combination of these factors, we create the necessary conditions for students to carry out their personal and professional projects and prepare for an increasingly demanding society.
